Audiences & Targeting
Targeting lets you control exactly who sees your experiment. You can restrict an experiment to specific pages, limit it to visitors on mobile devices, target only visitors from a particular country, or build complex audience segments with multiple conditions. This section covers every targeting option available in A vs B.
Two layers of targeting
A vs B uses two independent layers to determine whether a visitor should be enrolled in an experiment.
The first layer is URL targeting, configured in Step 1 of the experiment builder. URL rules define which pages the experiment runs on. A visitor must be on a matching page for the experiment to even be evaluated.
The second layer is audience targeting, configured in Step 1 of the experiment builder as well. Audiences define who the visitor must be — based on their device, location, browser, traffic source, or custom data. A visitor must match the URL rules AND the audience conditions to be enrolled.
